2. Claims Examined
- It was expected that, as an outcome of the pre-service teachers' participation in the research apprenticeship program, they would have a better understanding of the science and mathematics content and processes, and would be able to incorporate activities that promote discovery, inquiry and research in their teaching practice.
- It was also expected that researchers and research assistants would benefit from having future teachers in their research team due to their education background.
- It was anticipated that as a result of the pre-service teachers' participation in the assistantship program, they would develop academic capabilities, especially regarding MS content knowledge and content-specific pedagogy.
